On 1st February, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the brave son of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, was captured by the Mughal army at a place called Sangameshwar. He was kept in captivity for about 40 days, during which Mughal emperor Aurangzeb tried many times to force him to give up his faith and Swarajya. Sambhaji Maharaj was given very little food, kept in chains, and treated very harshly, but he remained strong, calm, and fearless. He never bowed down to injustice. This day reminds us of his great bravery, honesty, and deep love for Swarajya, and teaches children to always stand for truth.
