Long ago, there was a brave prince named Lord Rama. He lived in the city of Ayodhya with his wife Sita and brother Lakshman. One day, Rama was sent to the forest for 14 years. During this time, a demon king named Ravana took Sita away to Lanka. With the help of Hanuman and his army, Lord Rama fought a great battle and defeated Ravana. When Rama, Sita, and Lakshman returned to Ayodhya, people were very happy. They decorated their homes with diyas (lamps) and celebrated their return. Since then, we celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, to remember the victory of good over evil and light over darkness.
